  • In the past few years tax planning has become more and more complicated. Tax collectors devise more elaborate tax laws in order to eliminate tax loopholes and to compel private individuals to pay more tax. Tax planning is for tax consultants like a game of chess with a group of bus drivers – you have to wait forever to make your move. Staying one step ahead of the tax authorities has become more complex, but we are still on top of the game.

    As the laws are becoming more elaborate, it makes tax planning also harder, but the more complicated the law, the more possibilities it actually offers. Once a loophole has been eliminated a new one will open. Just like in chess.

    Tighter cooperation between the European tax authorities and their counterparts from the Caribbean and Indian Ocean region and the U.S. has made people realise that not declaring your income is no longer a solution. In tax planning it has become more important to know the local tax laws and contracts well and make good use of that knowledge. People have come to an understanding that if they do not opt for legal ways of tax planning they might face an even greater problem in the future.

When we assist a client we do not have to constantly worry about meeting our sales targets because we have none. Instead, we enjoy communicating with our clients, the work we do and the outcome of the cooperation with our clients.

    We let the client know if we are unable to work out an actually working solution for him. Our aim is to offer an effective solution to our clients, therefore we do not think it is ethical to sell a solution to our client at any cost. Due to our beliefs regarding customer relationships we leave it to the big corporations to put together bulky tax analyses offering no actual solution to the customer.

    Life is too short to make wrong choices – to ask your golf partner or fellow club member for tax advice simply because he seems like a nice person.
